Jimmypig's News

Hi all!

Been working on the new album for donkeys! (That means a long time in English) I think I started the first tracks back in august last year, I've made about 12 so far but whittled it down to 5. The other tracks were okay, but just not up to the standard I've set for this album. So there's another 2 in the works that I think will make it on... It's getting there.

Anyway I'm gonna start uploading the B-Sides to NG for people to listen to, starting now!

Love you all

Hi NG!

I finally got round to finishing my new album. It's been about 2 years since Fira came out and since then I've been working on and off on the latest album. Track 2 especially took me 6 months to complete after trashing it, then retrying over and over. The album itself is called Everest because finally finishing it felt like climbing fucking Everest, also the melody for track two "The shattered mountain" happened to fit perfectly over a picture of Everest (Genuinely didn't plan that, realised it right at the end of production after I named it).

Anyway, Everest is out now on iTunes, Spotify, Google... All the other ones. Spotify like is:

Hope you all enjoy, might be my last so have fun. And thanks everyone for being here for the journey :)

(Also 15 years old on newgrounds now!)

Hey!

So I'm still writing, been about 10 years now, and I've just finished my lastest album Fira.

8 tracks, sitting just under 40 minutes, I've uploaded 4 tracks but hit my limit so if you want the rest right now head over to the link below and grab the album. It's pay what you want, so free if you want! Or 10,000 dollars ;)

Download link: https://xsentinel.bandcamp.com/album/fira

Hope you all enjoy it, a lot of the songs have already been up here but I wanted to make it all neat and nice. Anyway back to writing, and as always my Newgrounds fans get first listen. Thanks for the support everyone, much love.

Okay so round one is all done! (for me)

http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/584582

I was going to wait till deadline to post it but I love this song and I won't be doing anything to it now, so I may as well get it out for people to enjoy :) (hopefully)

I am in such a strong group and there are so many amazing artists here that I'm just glad to be in this part, but don't expect to get much further.

This song is basically what my next EP will be like too, classical focused but using dubstepish techniques and synths to annontate that classical story-like feel.

If you want MOAR then check out my various pages which I shall link below!

Good luck everyone, in my eyes you are all starts *_*

Okay, I realise how stupid I look now after posting that long heartfelt message about leaving and I don't want people to think it was a cry for attention or a stunt so I'll detail why in a second but... I have a new album out, now, like right fucking now, skip to the bottom for links!

So a couple of months ago I "quit" music. I said it's because of not feeling good enough and like I was wasting my time yadda yadda, but I changed my mind.

I was feeling pretty low at that point, certain things in life weren't stacking up like I thought, I couldn't write anything I liked and everything seemed to be falling apart around me. The only thing I ever cared about and was proud of in a personal sense was my music and I thought if I carried on I would ruin what I had already done, but I realised that was a stupid thought (albeit months later).

As the months went by I started to play around and listen to old music I'd made, next thing I know I'm doing it daily and going back to songs I liked to crisp them up. Then after reading some of the genuinely heartfelt messages from some fans on here and elsewhere I realised that I don't need to stop, and people don't want me to, so why am I cutting my nose off to spite my face? So, I collected my favorite pieces from the past year, remixed, remastered, made new ones and put them on an album aptly titled "ReBirth" (also it was released on 4/20, easter sunday... Blasphemy always adds right?).

So here it is! 9 tracks, most released before but you may not have heard some, all of them (bar one) has been remastered or mixed from anything up here. You can get it on Bandcamp and name your own price! (I think free is always a good price):

http://xsentinel.bandcamp.com/album/rebirth

And you can listen to it on SC, the download link will take you to BC again:

https://soundcloud.com/x-sentinel/sets/rebirth

I'll put it on YT this week too so be sure to subscribe at www.youtube.com/xsentinelofficial for that magic.

Thanks for all the support and kind words, I won't be slowing up now and I learned my lesson about being hasty on the old "I'm quitting" jib, sorry about that -_-

Hi NG!

So today I decided to call time on X Sentinel. Here's a post I made earlier on my Facebook page which tells all:

"Hey guys, It comes with a heavy heart to write this, but it's time I did. As of today I won't be making any more X Sentinel tracks. I know I don't have many followers but the ones I do have mean a lot to me, and I've spoken to a lot of people personally thanks to this, but I think it's time to move on.

There's no definite this or that reason for it, but more a collection of different ones that have forced my hand. I feel I owe some of you an explanation though so if you want one here it is.

When I started out back in 2007 under this name I had no freaking idea what the hell I was doing, X Sentinel was just a name I thought sounded cool and I wanted it to be me, so I made the name well before I even made anything worth listening to. Then about 3 years later I started getting better and I was getting a few listens which inspired me more. Then dubstep got big, and I got swept away by it. Dubstep was so new to me and so epic that it really inspired me to get better with my technical abilities, I honestly owe all of my knowledge of music production to that genre. But the Dubstep phase is over, and what's more it has been for a while. I never wanted to jump on any bandwagon and that's why I always tried to inject something different into my songs, but lately I'm having trouble making anything that I really care about under this genre. There are so many better artists than me doing things I wish I could with what dubstep has become, some of the branch-offs like glitch-hop, trap and so on are really great, but I don't feel like they're where I belong.

So, again, I think it's time I closed the book for X. I had some of the best times of my life writing these songs, and some of your messages about how my songs have inspired or helped you really mean the world to me. My pages will stay up as long as the sites are around, so you can always get X no matter what!

One last time, I want to thank you all so so much for all the support. I want to thank GirlStep especially for being awesome and making some of my favorite shit with me, also PoniiboiAtrasolis Young Pupp Leonardo Music Newgrounds Mexpha XRP Radio and of course M.U.D. Production's There's also so many people I can't tag because you're not artists! But know I love you all guys.

So I guess I'll finish with this song [The song was Game Over... heh], more appropriate now than ever!  I'll still be round writing music and more! Maybe you'll come across me again soon!

Cya guys

X "

------------------------------

So yeah, that's that. BUT, Newgrounds will always be my home, Sentinel or not, so I'll still be putting all of my work up here for everyone. I think I'll focus on writing some good game/movie music for all of the awesome people here, who knows? I can do anything now! :)

Thanks for all the XS support Newgrounds, I wouldn't have had a fraction of the success without this great community.

So I actually hit the 10 year mark. This is the longest I have been on any site EVER, and most of those 10 years have been active.

As it stands I have 350 fans and 150 songs uploaded.

This site has given me so much inspiration to carry on writing, and to carry on being true to myself artistically. NG has never been about the money, or the scene, or status, it has always been a hub where arguably the worlds most creative flash animators, musicians, artists, games designers and scholars have come together to share their art for the love of it, for free.

I want to thank everyone on this site, I'm honored to have had so many listeners here and I can't wait for the next ten years.

GO NEWGROUNDS, WE RULE!!

Soooooooo....

What a year so far. After releasing the last EP "Reset" which has done pretty well, around 10k downloads and mainly positive feedback, I've decided to start on the next EP which will be loosely based around space and the universe. Lift Off is an early of that EP and you can hear it on my NG profile or at my other sites (I'll link them all at the end).

So far I've been to Global Gathering, SW4 fest and a private intimate DJ set with Skrillex and Flux Pavilion (fully amazing) and I've been relaxing on the writing to sort of learn and build inspiration. But now that's over, summer has gone and it's time to write. I recently made a remix of Ellie Goulding's "The Writer" but NG removed it, it's still on my SoundCloud and YouTube so get downloading before someone else stops it!

If anyone has noticed well done! You win. Since Scrapyard I took a bit of time off to learn more about mixing and mastering and really playing around with things to get my own "sound" and I think the best examples of that are Lift off, The Writer remix and the upcoming remix of Atrasolis - Control Tower which NO ONE is allowed to hear yet till he releases the EP but it's crazy/beautiful and has some interesting mixing techniques.

Thanks to all my fans and people who constantly give me the inspiration and praise to continue, everyone who listens to my songs day to day and feels connected to them and everyone who thinks these songs are good enough to want to tell their friends about. You guys justify me releasing everything for free, if one day the money comes great, but until then I know my work means something to a lot of people.

Thanks!

TL;DR - Good shit comin'. Check pages for old shit you missed. O and thanks.
