You've got a really good sense of rhythm, I love the chops and the way you tell the story with the timing of your synths.

The hardest thing to get down is your mixing and you can work on that, but as far as the style goes, I think you definitely got something unique and great in your work. Looking forward to seeing what you make from here on! :)

Hi, thanks for reviewing my song(s)! I aggre with you that my mixing (& mastering) skills will improve over time (I hope it). But it would be appreciated to maybe give me some few tips at mixing :))

I love it! Really makes me think of donkey Kong country music

etherealwinds responds:

Thank you so much for listening, glad you liked it! I'm not overly familiar with the Donkey Kong soundtrack, but I've heard good things!

Of course my vote and review will be biased, but can I just say thank you. Hearing just this sample of the song made me so happy, you took the emotion from iO and made it your own. The muted sound alongside it just felt like being in some serene underwater palace.

Thank you for motivating me to write again, exactly what I'm going to do now.

Teckmo-X responds:

I'm glad! I wanted to make something not good but better. I originally wanted to use the iO samples but this worked out better than I expected. I am still a long way from done but hopefully after it's done I can publish.

I go through a lot in my days as a matter of fact I'm gonna share a secret (not so secret since it's openly being posted) but I suffer frome severe depression. I'm talking about like instant mood changes, continuously regretting things, unpleasant thoughts. Somehow I'm still alive despite probably having lung cancer. I've hit many rocks along the way where I told myself I didn't want to make music anymore but sometimes the things you love are what keeps us coming back for more. Everyone has a bit of talent inside of them even if it's not music wise but don't stop making music because you are talented and there's no point in throwing something like that away.

Awesome track! I love the spacey synth that comes in around 1:35. Good luck in the judging!

N1NJA-Official responds:

Thanks! Good luck to you too :)

GG, you definitely won this round and you deserve to. Love it!

Teckmo-X responds:

Thank you Jimmpig! Hey we'll have to wait for the results. I listened to your piece and I loved it too. I love how you incorporate the vocal bits into your music. My favorite one was Rudementia. That had so much flow to it. Regardless I'm actually scared too but whatever happens it was an honor and pleasure going up against you. Best of luck to you too!

A great piece! You wrote a nice story here and it progresses beautifully. I love the subtle mixing you did on the realistic parts. The electro parts sounded a bit off to my ear in parts though, I think it was some clashing in the lower end and the lead was a little scratchy, but I really enjoyed the changes overall.

Good luck!

EctiBot responds:

Thanks :D. Definetly som clashes in the lower end yea. I'll try to be more careful of that for my next piece :)

You promised pop and we got pop. Really big sound, great singing. I would produce it slightly different myself, there seemed to be a bit of mud at the lower end (I think from the drum and guitar clashing), but thats to my ear, and its a great track.

Good luck!

FinnMK responds:

Thanks a bunch! I've yet to get a great guitar sound I love, but I'm inching towards it. I think if I had really nailed the guitar recording and mixing the mix would've come together punchier and cleaner, especially in that 150-400Hz area...next time!

LOVE the start, the strings sound beautiful, and that ambient crackling really felt nice on the ear. The bass was too jarring for me, it side swiped me out of the track, and I personally would have gone for a subtler bass and less harsh drums, because the piano and strings are really nice.

Good luck!

Adjeye responds:

Thank you for the feedback!

I would rather have a more aggressive and harsh track tho with a more subtle way. Maybe I should have done less with classical instruments, and more with synths. I had the feeling they matched pretty well, maybe I should revisit the .flp again :), after enough plays everything sounds right so thanks for pointing this out!

Production quality is fantastic, I gave it 4 because some of the sounds are a bit 'fake' sounding, and in this style it stands out, but the production and composition, spot on mate.

Good luck!

AzulJazz responds:

Thanks a lot!
:)

Loving the composition of this, if you had it mixed professionally it would be incredible.

Teckmo-X responds:

Thank you :D I'm working hard to get to that level of experience so wish me luck ^.^
